Newark Mayor, Honorable Cory Booker, is Ramapo College’s Commencement Speaker
The Honorable Cory A. Booker, Mayor of Newark, New Jersey, will deliver the commencement address at Ramapo College of New Jersey’s 2008 ceremony Friday, May 16 beginning at 10 a.m. at the Bandshell. John A. Donofrio, Ramapo class of 1981, will receive the President’s Award of Merit. A total of 1,358 students who completed their studies in January and May, or are expected to finish in August, are eligible to participate.

Ramapo College Dedicated the Anisfield School of Business
At a dedication ceremony Monday, April 28, 2008 for the Anisfield School of Business on the campus of Ramapo College of New Jersey, Richard and Millicent Anisfield of Saddle River announced a $3 million gift to the school that bears their name. In 2006, the Anisfields made a $2.5 gift to facilitate construction of the new academic building. At the time, it was the largest single gift in the history of Ramapo College. This second significant gift brings the total of the Anisfields’ donation to the college to more than $6 million.
Ramapo College of New Jersey Listed by Kiplinger’s As One of the 100 Best Values in Public Colleges
Ramapo College of New Jersey was listed in the February 2008 issue of Kiplinger’s Personal Finance Magazine as among the “100 Best Values in Public Colleges.” Kiplinger’s looked at more than 500 public four-year colleges and universities, using measures including the percentage of freshmen scoring 600 or higher on the verbal and math components of the SAT, student/faculty ratio, admission rates and graduation rates. In addition, schools were ranked based on cost and financial aid, the average cost for a student with need after subtracting grants, the average cost for a student without need after subtracting non-need based grants, the average percentage of need met by aid and the average debt a student accumulates before graduation.
